Today's update focuses on revamping PvP weapons so that they don't degrade to dust after one hour of combat, bringing hourly wilderness events as requested, and implementing many of the suggestions that have found their way into the most recent suggestion discussion I posted here. This update will require you to close and reopen the client before playing.

    PvP Weapons

PvP weapons have struggled to find their place since they were added given that we're more economy and PvM driven than we are PvP driven. Today brings some significant changes to these weapons, making them BiS against in some PvM scenarios, but at a GP cost.

The weapons still degrade completely after one hour of combat, but unlike before, they turn into a tradeable broken state instead of turning to dust. They can then be recharged using 1M coins on them. This should give much more value and inventive to obtain these items, as it opens open a more useful door for them to be used, especially compared to previously where the entry cost of using them in PvM was limited by 1 hour of combat before having to obtain a complete replacement of the weapon.

Morrigan's javelin special attack effect now applies in PvM to give Morrigan's weapons more value outside of PvP.

So, how do you obtain PvP weapons? First, there are the 3 main wilderness bosses, being Callisto, Vet'ion, and Venenatis. They drop PvP weapons at a rate of 1 in 1024. Second, are revenants, which drop them at a less common rate than their unique wilderness weapons (and are affected similiarly by whether or not you're skulled). Finally, there is a very slim chance of getting a PvP weapon drop while killing another player in the wilderness. Drop rate boosts improve the odds for both bosses and revenants.

With these changes in mind, PvP weapons currently in the game have all been removed. While this is unfortunate for those of you with PvP weapons, simply put the PvP weapons have shifted around between being common drops to enourage their use because they degrade to dust and being rare because they're powerful. To keep things more balanced given that they now last forever where they previously were lost forever after an hour, PvP weapons are starting over with a clean slate.

PvP armour is still an option that could be added to BattleScape, but I'd like to hear your general opinions on the matter and run a poll if there doesn't appear to be an overall agreement on whether it should or shouldn't be added.

    Wilderness Changes

The event bosses will now drop a bloodier key for the player who did the most damage, and bloody key for 3 additional players. In addition to this, both of their hitpoints have been lowered to 2K and the Chaos Elemental no longer uses special attacks taken from the wilderness bosses.

Wilderness events now run hourly to encourage more frequent activities. To not interfere with tournaments, tournaments have been pushed 30 minutes later.
